The Assistance Center, active in the Sharon area since 1984, with 80 volunteers, operates an assistance and prevention layout for the community.

The purposes of the Center are as follows:

1.        Assistance - holding an Emergency Hot Line - 1202 - and a round the clock, 365 days a year, accompaniment team. Persons turning to the Center are accompanied to police stations, hospitals, and other legal procedures. In addition, the Center holds assistance sessions and support groups for rape and incest victims.

2.        Education and explanation - holding prevention workshops in schools, and training of professionals (educational counselors, social workers, psychologists, physicians and police investigators).

The Vision of the Center

To expand its services of assistance, to answer the demand of varied populations, expand prevention activity, thus reducing the rate of sexual abuse.

The Sharon Assistance Center is an individual, non-profit Association, existing on private donations, Funds and partial financial support from the authorities. The Association is very strict about keeping all the provisions of the Association Act, with regard to non-profit institutions, and all its activities are supervised and controlled by a qualified auditor.

Any donation is welcome and tax-exempt, as per Par. 46a of the Income Tax Act.
